Eligibility Guidelines

  • Children need healthy meals to learn. North East ISD offers healthy meals every school day. Breakfast costs $1.10 at Prekindergarten level and $1.20 at all other grade levels. Lunch costs $2.10 at Prekindergarten and $2.40 at the Elementary level and $2.70 at the Secondary schools. Your children may qualify for free meals or reduced price meals. The reduced price for breakfast  is Free and $.40 for lunch for all grade levels. If you received a notification letter that a child is directly certified for free meals, do not complete an application unless other North East ISD students live in the household. Let the School Nutrition office know if any children in the household attending school are not listed in the letter.

  • Do I apply if I received a notice that my child's school has qualified for free meals based on the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP)?

  • We are in the military. Do we report our income differently?

  • May I apply if someone in my household is not a U.S. citizen?

  • My child’s application was approved last year. Do I need to fill out a new one?
