  • Adult Programs & Career Training

The mission of adult education and literacy is to ensure that all adults who live in Texas have the skills necessary to function effectively in their personal and family lives, in the work place, and in the community. We offer a variety of courses including certification courses.

Academy of Learning in Retirement (ALIR)

Through volunteerism, the Academy of Learning in Retirement (ALIR), believing in lifelong learning, recognizes and utilizes its members’ wealth of experience and abilities to achieve educational stimulation in the arts, history, literature, languages, and sciences.

ALIR's objective is to foster social interaction among its members and provide opportunities for discussing topics of interest with people who have lived long enough to have the maturity and experience to make it worthwhile.

New and hit courses are offered each semester. Semesters are typically 12 weeks for the Spring and Fall semesters and 9 weeks for the Summer session.

    Included in each semester:

    • three luncheons
    • art show
    • small groups away from ALIR to pursue mutual interests

  • Driver Education

As young adults approach driving age, the quality of their driver's education program becomes critical. Courses taught by qualified professionals are vital. They place a well-balanced emphasis on driver performance, making accurate decisions based on perception and appropriate behavior at a time when students are just beginning to drive.

    Kids' Camps

We are thrilled to offer a variety of seasonal camps throughout the school year, designed for participants currently in Pre-K through 6th grade. Our full-day programs provide campers with fun-filled days of enrichment activities, outdoor play, arts and crafts, and more. Each week is themed to enhance our planned activities, ensuring engaging and memorable experiences. All activities are led by NEISD-trained employees who are dedicated to making a positive impact on your child’s life. Please note that campers are required to bring their own lunch and a reusable water bottle. We provide a light breakfast snack and an afternoon snack to keep everyone energized throughout the day.
