AMP is a specialized career and technical education magnet school program focused on agriculture science and leadership development through FFA. Located on 20 acres at Madison High School, AMP provides hands-on learning in 6 career pathways.

AMP's mission is to develop students' potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education.

AMP prepares students for higher education and careers in global agriculture, food systems, natural resources, and related industries, which is expected to have an industry growth rate of 6% over the next decade.

AMP uses an integrated educational model that combines classroom instruction and experiential learning in state-of-the-art labs. This prepares students for agriscience careers by obtaining experience prior to entering the workforce.

AMP offers over 25 agricultural courses throughout our 6 pathways. Available pathways include agribusiness, agricultural engineering, animal science, environmental & natural Resources, food science, and plant science. 

Through hands-on experiences like supervised agricultural experiences (SAEs), internships, and FFA leadership events, AMP helps discover and develop talents so students can achieve college, careers, and real-world success.

Working with agriculture’s leading industries, universities, and leadership experts, AMP identifies the necessary business and character skills for employee and collegiate success and develops those skills in our students. AMP also offers up to 21 hours of college credit to eligible students that are enrolled in Advanced Animal Science, Agribusiness Management and Marketing, Floral Design, Horticultural Sciences, and Wildlife, Fisheries and Ecology Management.

Supervised agricultural experiences (SAEs) provide work-based learning tailored to students' agricultural interests. SAEs develop scenarios for students to find their passion, learn real-world skills, explore different experiences, find a career mentor, and be prepared for college and career, all while leading to paid opportunities.

The opportunity to raise livestock such as cattle, chickens, goats, lambs, rabbits, and swine is available to AMP students, however it is an optional SAE that is voluntary and other options are available.

AMP is open to students in 9th through 12th grade with an interest in the study of agriculture.

AMP has a performance-based application process evaluating career interest, academics, test scores, attendance, and conduct. View our admissions requirements.

Roundtrip transportation is provided between other NEISD campuses and Madison High School for students residing within district boundaries. Out-of-district students must arrange their own transportation.

While taking AMP courses, students can also pursue academics, electives, sports, arts, clubs, and more at Madison High School for a complete high school experience.

The Madison FFA Booster Club organizes fundraising and support to enhance the experience at AMP for students. Parents can volunteer time, introduce corporate sponsors, or provide financial support to further the impact of AMP.
