Hi Jaguar students and parents! My name is Mary Payne, and I'm from San Antonio, Texas. This is my 8th year of teaching here at Jackson Middle School. I have experience teaching 6th grade English and Science, as well as ESL grades 6-8.  I am so excited about the upcoming school year!

6th Grade Science (periods TBA) This is a required course for all 6th grade students to earn credit in science. Students will explore science content in four separate units: 1. Organisms and Environments, 2. Force, Motion and Energy, 3. Matter and Energy, and 4. Earth and Space. Students are required to earn a minimum 70% final average to receive course credit.

6th Grade English Language Arts (periods TBA)
This course is required for all 6th grade students to earn credit in English/ELA. Students will study English and explore Literature in six different units to prepare for the STAAR exam and to build literacy and literary/English language enthusiasm in students. Students are required to earn a minimum of 70% as a final average to receive course credit.
