Ms. Kelsie Prewitt
Hello, my name is Kelsie Prewitt and I am so excited to begin my work with the Special Education Dept. joining the NHES Bronco family for the 2024-2025 school year! I attended NEISD schools for all of my K-12 school years, so I feel like I am coming back home. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a Minor in Music Studies from UTSA in 2006, and also graduated in 2022 with a Master's degree in Sociology from Grand Canyon University. I come with over 15 years of teaching experience in Title I schools, with half being in PK-1st grade classes and half being in Special Education. My experience in SPED has been working with students in PK-8th grade, including 2 years leading a unit.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family (most of whom live right here in San Antonio), visiting my brother, sister-in-law, and nephews who live in Spring, TX, taking care of my 3 cats and dog, and putting on beautiful displays in the night sky doing fireworks. My hobbies are cooking, reading, music, going to movies, working out, and home improvement projects. I love purple, aqua, and coral/peach and enjoy getting away to the beach a few times a year.
If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out! Maintaining strong relationships with families is extremely important to me as we help your child(ren) grow and learn, and I look forward to working to see their growth socially, emotionally, and academically. We are going to have an amazing year!
