The Architectural Design Pathway teaches students how to shape the environment and develop communities while creating a sense of space and identity. The pathway begins by learning about the history, styles, perspective, and functionality of architecture. By combining critical thinking, collaboration, and communication skills with math and science, students will create the spaces of tomorrow or reinvent the spaces of the past. Architectural Design blends technology with education as students use Photoshop and SketchUp to create spaces and designs. By mastering these programs, they obtain their Autodesk Revit certification in high school. Students also produce hand drawn concepts and physical models, learning professional communication abilities applicable in workplace settings. Architectural Design CurriculumStudents in Architectural Design can take a series of courses that build professional skills utilizing industry software like Revit, AutoCAD, and SketchUp. The architecture route begins with Principles of Architecture, which leads to Architectural Design I, II, and is followed by Commercial Photography II and practicum courses. For Interior Design, students also enroll in Principles of Architecture and then branch off with Interior Design I, II, and a practicum course.
