Hello Las Lomas Families! 🦁❤️

My name is Kandice Koch and this year I have the privilege of being your child's 5th grade teacher this school year. This is my 14th year in education and my first year to join the Las Lomas team. I was previously at Fox Run in NEISD for almost 10 years. During my teaching experience, I have taught Kinder, 1st, 4th, 5th, and I was also a Reading Instructional Coach. I love to be involved as much as possible with my students, inside and outside of their education. Over the years, I have been a sponsor for Cheer Club, Book Club, Drama Club, Student Council, a Student 2 Student program to help support military families. These clubs have been a blast and I am hoping to get Student Council started for our students this year at Las Lomas.

I recently completed my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership in May of 2022 at The University of Texas San Antonio, and I am back at UTSA this year for my Master's in Technology Instruction and Design. Go Roadrunners! When I am not diving into all things related to reading, writing, and technology, I spend most of my time with my family, friends, and my fur child, Scooter. I am very fortunate to have a lot of my family right here in San Antonio!

Building relationships is very important to me and my door is always open. I believe communication between teachers, parents, and students is one of the biggest keys to success. It is my passion to learn all about your children, to help them grow as a person and also as leaders.
