In this class course, we will explore the exciting world of animation and learn the fundamentals of creating animated content. Throughout the course, we will focus on developing your skills in digital animation using industry-standard software and techniques. During this semester we will be able to:
- Understand the basic principles of animation
- Create animated characters and objects
- Use industry-standard animation software
- Apply storytelling techniques to your animations
- Demonstrate creativity and problem-solving skills in animation projects.
Classroom Expectations

Materials Needed
+ It is recommended that students have a USB flash drive (jump drive) for saving various projects
+ Must have a Google drive account (We will be using Google classroom to send assignments)
+ *Tablet or Smartphone
Grading
Primarily, we will be doing daily warm-up questions (entry ticket), daily assignments and projects. On occasion, we will have quizzes and exams to evaluate your overall comprehension of unit lessons given and, occasionally, we will have projects that require us to work outside of the school campus. Since the majority of assignments are project based, they will be graded through a rubric. Participation includes completing daily journals and further progression in completion of their work.
Grading Policy:
Daily Assignments: 60%,
Projects: 20%,
Quizzes: 20%,
Expectations For the Course:
Because of the rigorous nature of this curriculum, you are expected to meet project deadlines. Screencast video tutorials will be provided in Google Classroom for you to use. If you’re having difficulty with the content, feel free to ask me for help at any time. If you are absent or if you’re falling behind on your work, tutoring will be available at the scheduled time below.
In order to succeed in this course, it is important to adhere to the following expectations:
- Meeting Deadlines: Due to the rigorous nature of this curriculum, you are expected to meet project deadlines. Timely submission of your work is crucial for your success in this course.
- Screencast Video Tutorials: Screencast video tutorials will be provided in Google Classroom for you to use as a resource. These tutorials will help you understand and navigate the animation software we will be using.
- Seeking Help: If you are having difficulty with the course content, feel free to ask for help at any time. I am here to support you and assist you in your learning journey.
- Tutoring Availability: If you are absent or falling behind on your work, tutoring will be available before school starts and during after-school hours. Please take advantage of these opportunities to catch up and seek additional
