Required Materials and Devices:
Canvas Learning Management System. OnRamps provides an online learning environment in Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) for all students in this class. You will have access to two Canvas courses for the purpose of the dual-enrollment experience: the OnRamps High School course and the OnRamps college course. You are expected to access Canvas at least weekly for readings and course resources. Many of your assignments are accessed through the Canvas Learning System. You are responsible for course information, including assignment due dates and instructions, that is posted In Canvas.

Quest Homework:
You will complete a college-level homework assignment for each unit using the Quest Learning System. Collaboration on homework is encouraged. However, each student will be required to turn in a paper copy of their work to provide reasoning for their answer selections. (Spiral Notebook)

- Pre-Labs: No late submissions accepted. Must be completed prior to the beginning of the in-class lab activity.
- In-class activity: Must be made up within five class days of the completion of the in-class time set aside for the activity.
- Post-lab: May be given a two-day extension for sudden illness, or technical issues with Canvas, or other technology problems which are reported to your High School Instructor.

Your High School Instructor will conduct at least one Learning Catalytics module per week, which will determine your participation grade. Participation grades are determined as 85% participating and 15% correctness. Excused absences do not affect your participation grade. A missed Learning Catalytics session due to an absence will appear as a blank in the college gradebook and will not count as a zero
Other items to note:
Unit 1 exam is not included in college grade.
College professor drops on Quest homework per semester.
You can retake unit exam 2 and 3 at the end of the first semester.
You can retake unit exam 5, 6, and 7 at the end of the second semester.
AP I OnRamps: (302K) High School Syllabus
Assessment: Students will be graded on tests, investigations, homework, quizzes, projects and an organized notebook. Tests will be weighted 40%, investigations 20%, homework 20%, and quizzes 20%. The final semester grade will be an average of the two nine weeks with the semester exam weighted 20%. The test grade will include UT Quest Exam, corrections and retakes as need. Homework category will include classwork, group assignments and UT Quest grades. The majority of the quiz grade will be from Learning Catalytics, with a few traditional quizzes and a well-organized spiral notebook.
Class management: It is my contention that physics is not an innate ability; rather it is a discipline which takes a great deal of hard work, instruction and perseverance. Therefore, class time will not be used to negotiate discipline problems.
Be a positive influence in the classroom. Participate.
Lastly, I believe in students being their own best advocates. Please do not hesitate to schedule time to talk me about grades, or any other concerns.
