Eisenhower Golf Information

Dear 7^th & 8^th Grade Students and Parents,

The 2022 golf season begins February 24th in room 107 or by zoom and ends after the North East District Golf Tournaments.  Players MUST have a current physical/medical and participation forms to be eligible to practice.

ALL PLAYERS MUST HAVE PASSING GRADES, GOOD BEHAVIOR IN CLASS AND AT PRACTICE TO PARTICIPATE ON THE GOLF TEAM.  WE WANT OUR ATHLETES TO REPRESENT EISENHOWER M.S. IN A POSITIVE MANNER.

If the weather is too cold or rainy, I will decide by 3:30 P.M. whether we will hold practice.  Any cancellations will be made during the afternoon announcements.  Practices will start at 4:00. Please make sure players arrive on time.  Practice at San Pedro Driving Range & Par 3 will end by 5:15 (please pick up no later than 5:15).  (Practice groups and days are subject to change).

We will have a few dual matches for 7^th & 8^th grade (3 boys & 3 girls).

 Transportation to/from practice and tournaments must be provided by parents.

Each golfer will practice at least once per week from 4:00 to 5:15 P.M. (unless arrangements are made).

Most practices will be at San Pedro Driving Range & Par 3 except for scheduled tournament practice tee times (TBD).

Spring Break is March 7–11 (No team practice).    

Each player needs some golf clubs.  (a wood, 3 to 4 irons, and a putter or Jr. set).  The Golf Team has some clubs that players can use or share at practice, but there are not enough for all players (please communicate with me if clubs are needed).

Golf Schedule

7th Grade Girls at Windcrest G.C., April 19 (red tees-9 holes).

7th Grade Boys at Windcrest G.C., April 21 (red tees-9 holes).

8th Grade Girls at Ft. Sam Houston, April 25 & 26 (modified tees-18 holes).

8th Grade Boys at Ft. Sam Houston, April 27 & 28 (modified tees-18 holes).

Each school is limited to 5 golfers at each District Tournament (7^th/8^th & boys/girls).

Golf season overlaps with track season (athletes CAN participate in both sports).

All players running track are required to attend all track practices and see Coach Glenn to discuss golf practices.
