Zaikeise Johnson

Zaikeise Johnson is a passionate music educator with over four years of experience nurturing a love for music in young learners. A graduate of Sam Houston State University, Zaikeise holds a degree in music education and is dedicated to creating a classroom environment where students feel inspired, confident, and curious.

With a background in both clarinet and piano, Zaikeise brings a well-rounded musical perspective to their teaching. While their own journey as a musician began with the clarinet, they’ve also embraced the piano as a versatile and essential tool in the classroom—helping to lead songs, guide rhythm activities, and create engaging musical experiences for students of all levels.

Over the years, Zaikeise has worked with all levels of students from elementary to high school band. However, the most recent years have primarily belonged to primary students, and he firmly believes that these early years are critical for building a lifelong relationship with music. In their classroom, music is more than just singing songs or learning rhythms—it’s a way to explore creativity, develop confidence, and build essential life skills like listening, cooperation, and self-expression.

Zaikeise believes that every child deserves access to quality music education. They view music as a universal language—one that helps students connect with themselves and others, no matter their background. By making lessons fun, inclusive, and meaningful, Zaikeise strives to create a space where each student feels seen, heard, and capable of making music.

In addition to teaching, Zaikeise remains active as a performer and lifelong learner, continually seeking new ways to bring music to life in the classroom. Their goal is not only to teach music, but to ignite a lasting passion for it—helping children see music not just as a subject, but as a source of joy, confidence, and community.
