Hello Wilderness Oak community!  I am Elias Harrington and I am entering my fourth year as the proud principal of Wilderness Oak Elementary School.  I am extremely excited for another year of love, laughter, learning, and friendship! We believe in providing a nurturing learning environment where students can thrive socially, emotionally, and academically. Parents are partners in the educational journey and open communication and trust is essential. I am looking forward to the continued partnership with our Wilderness Oak School community. Let's make the 2023-2024 school year the best one yet!

As the instructional leader, it is my commitment to ensure that our faculty and staff are well equipped to create successful and healthy students. As a team, we will continue to have high expectations for ALL and will meet the needs of every student. I believe it is important that we work together to ignite our student’s passions, create responsible citizens, and prepare our students for tomorrow’s opportunities.

I am a graduate of Texas State University and hold a Master’s Degree from the University of Texas in San Antonio. I worked as an elementary school teacher at Windcrest Elementary School for 10 years.  I served as the Assistant Principal of Northwood Elementary School in North East ISD.  I have been married to my beautiful wife Jennifer for 14 years and together we have three daughters named Sofia, Olivia, and Juliana. In my free time, I enjoy watching sports and camping.  Basketball and soccer are my favorite sports and I am a huge San Antonio Spurs and Liverpool fan!

I am so pleased to welcome you to the Wilderness for the 2023 - 24 academic school year.  This is my 22^nd year in education and my 6^th year at Wilderness Oak.  I feel so proud to have the ability to serve this great community as your assistant principal.  I look forward to working with you this year.   Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your child's educational career!

I graduated from The University of Texas at Austin and continued my education at the University of Texas at San Antonio a few years later when I attained a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership.  Prior to being an assistant principal, I served as a teacher and also had the chance to support grades Pre-4 through 5^th grade as a literacy coach.  

I am the mother to two wonderful children.  My son is a junior who attends DATA @ Roosevelt and my daughter is in second grade.
