Solar Eclipse 2024 Information

Mustang Community,

Don't worry -- students will have every opportunity to experience the upcoming Solar Eclipse! 😎 ☀️

Students will have the chance to watch as the moon blocks the sun and its shadow casts a night-like darkness over Earth for a few minutes that Monday afternoon. Each campus has specific viewing plans underway so our students can experience this phenomenon safely with protective glasses in an educational environment.

The next total solar eclipse viewable in the United States will be in 2044 so this will be an unforgettable learning experience. We look forward to experiencing this rare event #theNEISDway!

At Montgomery, we are expected to experience 99.73% totality viewing and will have lessons all morning for each grade level by a scientist from NASA.  He will teach the students all about the eclipse and other interesting aspects of our universe.

Be on the lookout for a permission slip to allow your student to go outside during the eclipse.  If the permission slip is not returned, the students will watch the eclipse on a video that is playing in the school building.

We look forward to safely experiencing this exciting event.
